We loaned our tent to Mike's sister and husband a while back and just got it back a few days ago. Ever since we got it back, Makayla has been asking if we could put it up. Well it's too cold outside to go camping...not to mention, I'm not about to sleep on the ground right now. After much persistence from her, Mike finally said maybe tomorrow. Of course tomorrow came, and guess who NEVER forgets ANYTHING!! So I get home from work and Makayla is super excited that they are going to get to put the tent up. I just look at Mike with this "oh really" face. He laughs and starts taking it out of the bag. I'm looking at him thinking, Have you completely lost your mind. Did I mention that this is a 6 person tent (not a small one). He's simply replies with once she sees it won't fit, she will stop asking. Well ..... us mothers know that that isn't really true don't we.!!! So I sit back on the sofa watching and waiting. He rolls it out and of course....it doesn't fit. At least not with a Christmas tree and furniture in the living room!! (by the way, the Christmas tree...the biggest one they had...will be my next blog) So Mike says "look Makayla, it doesn't fit. She starts trying to figure out how we can make it fit. Basically, her idea was to move all the furniture to the perimeter of the room and put the tent in the middle. No need to get in and out of the door, the kitchen, or up stairs because we will have a tent in the livingroom. Mike (thinking he is being smart again) says well we can always put the sofa and the Christmas tree in the front yard. He was thinking that since she was so excited about the ENORMOUS Christmas tree we just got that she would never won't to put it outside. WRONG!!!!

Long story short, I sat quietly and watched as they put up the tent and moved the sofa inside the tent. I figured what's a few days with a tent taking up the entire livingroom. Not to mention, Makayla was so excited about it so for two days we sat in our tent and watched t.v. I must say...it was kind of fun!
